Aesthetic Hallucinations

Mushroom

OK, what is this blog all about?

In Aesthetic Hallucinations, we're going to explore both the mind under the influence of psychedelics - in this case, psylocybin - although others are within the realm of possibilities in the future - as well as the most wonderful world of sounds.

It's written by one body and collective consciousness in the aesthetic phase of mushroom trips.

Why mushrooms?

Psilocybe cubensis, a common type of psychedelic mushroom, vastly increases creativity, neuroplasticity, and allows the mind to travel far and wide into the corners which have never been explored before, finding words and idiosyncratic connections impossible in the everyday state of consciousness. It drives Dionysian desires, sexual energy, hunger for novelty of every kind (sexual, pleasures of the palate, rich drinks, experiences) and helps connect people as the need to be with friends and family under the influence of psychedelics skyrockets and stays high in the next few days after ingestion.

How often will you publish?

The author of the blog typically experiences small doses of psylocibe cubensis on a weekly basis, learning something new every time. The need to write about music pairs well the need to connect with other people through publishing.

These are not reviews; these are states of mind under the influence of soundscapes and descriptions of how they feel, rather than judgements.

What does a typical listening session look like?

  1. On a day with no rush, typically Friday afternoon or week, 2 or 3 psilocybe cubensis are ingested orally and tea with honey is drunk from a small Japanese cup.
  2. The effect usually kicks in within 20 to 60 minutes.
  3. The earlier prepared music is played on headphones, with eyes fully covered, lying on the sofa, to allow visual imagery and overwhelming feelings.
  4. Writing takes places during or just after the listening.
  5. It's always just one intense listening for every album.
  6. The results are later published herein, on Aesthetic Hallucinations, for your enjoyment.

Disclaimer

This blog does not encourage the use of psychedelics. Everyone is responsible for their own lives. It is here only to express overflowing feelings of one human mind and body for the fun and sharing with fellow minds who might see the world similarly - or are just morbidly curious.
